Andrew Ensley (some sources say H.) Beckerdite was the ninth of ten known children of John Beckerdite (1778–1863) and Elizabeth Yokley (1780-1861), who married 29 Oct 1801 at Rowan (now Davidson) County, North Carolina.
Andrew married Frances Siceloff (1840-1922), in c1865 at presumably Davidson County, North Carolina. Andrew and Frances were the parents of four known children, namely:
1. Ensley R. Beckerdite (1866-1922)
2. George Henry Beckerdite (1869-1945)
3. Mary "Mamie" Florence Beckerdite Long (1872-1901)
4. Lizzie John Beckerdite Saintsing (1881–1954)
