Milton married Edith Egan on February 2, 1934 and their marriage was solemnized in June of the same year in the Salt Lake Temple.
Milton worked with the Associated Press. They transferred him to Sacramento, California where he attended writing classes at the Sacramento Junior College. Milton was again transferred by the AP, this time to Seattle. Milton and Edith lived in Seattle during World War II. Their small family was growing. Milton applied for a transfer in 1947 back to Salt Lake City.
Back in Salt Lake City, Milton and Edith raised their four children: Maureen, Carole Anne, Milton Glade Jr., and Deborah Elaine. They had opportunities to travel in the United States and Europe.
