Luise Rosato passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016, in Syracuse at the age of 91. She was a Cortland resident for nearly 70 years and the first German warbride to come to Cortland.

She enjoyed her work at Nu Sigma Chi sorority at Cortland State University and was a very hard worker.

She was one of nine children and leaves behind two children of her own: Linda (Bill) Kline of Cortland, and Danny (Linda) Rosato of Homer. She is survived by her children, nine grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Dominick Rosato and daughter Renee (Rosato) Abrams.

Luise will be remembered for her work ethic, her love for her family, and her courage. As a woman who endured struggles during World War II in Germany, her life was a journey with ups and downs. Luise was blessed at the end of her life with a circle of family that was rewarding and made her life complete. Her family surrounded her with joy.

A private family gathering will be held in Luise's memory on Saturday, April 23 at Wright Beard Funeral Home.
