Born in Franklin, Indiana on February 12, 1960 he was the son of the late Earl Lee Cowan and the late Margaret Bottom Emerson.
He was married on August 6, 1979 to Donna Reed and she survives.
Retired, Randy was an Owner/Operator truck driver as well as being employed by various trucking companies over a 30 plus year span hauling coal, sand and gravel.
He was a U.S. Army Peacetime Veteran serving from 1981-1984.
He was protestant by faith.
Randy was a member of the Brockport Army/Navy Club, Ridgway American Legion, Horton Twp. Sportsmen’s Club and the Crenshaw V.F.W. Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, 4 wheeling, and camp fires. His greatest joy however came from being in the outdoors and teaching his grandbabies the simple things in life.
In addition to his wife he is also survived by a daughter Billie Jo ( Andrew) Kunes of St. Marys; two sisters Debbie (Carl) Higdon of Franklin, Indiana; Sherry Cowan of Bradenton, FL and one brother Eric Shane Emerson also of Franklin, Indiana. He is also survived by a granddaughter Allison Mae Kunes and a grandson Jacob Lee Kunes.
In addition to his father and his mother he is also preceded in death by a brother Brian Lee Cowan.
Calling hours will be on Monday, May 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A private Funeral Service will be held with Pastor Karen Trask officiating. Burial will be in the Ridge Cemetery.
