Mr. Lake S. Maddrix, Sr., died at his home on Columbia Avenue Tuesday morning, following a prolonged illness. He was 61 years of age.

A native of Crisfield, he was the son of the late Frank and Amanda Tawes Maddrix, and the husband of Mrs. Lena Cooke Maddrix.

At one time he was connected with Chas. D. Briddell, Inc., but of late years had been engaged in business for himself as a barrel manufacturer.

Ill for about a year, his business, social and civic activities had been curtailed. Before that time, he was much interested in civic and political affairs, and in business he was energetic, dependable and his standing was high in business circles.

Funeral services were held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in his home, conducted by the Rev. A. T. McFarland, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Church. Interment was in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.

Bearers were Chas. M. Woolston, Sr., Josh Matthews, Alex Kellam, William Sterling, Weldon H. Massey Sr., and Cullen Sterling.
