Cecilia Cascone, 69, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 3, 2017.

She was born June 10, 1947, in Chicago, the daughter of Francis and Leetha (Thomas) Schipiour.

She was previously married to Robert Cascone and later married to Dennis Kinst.

She graduated from St. Mary of Perpetual Help, Chicago, with the Class of 1966.
She was a flight attendant for Midway Airlines.

Her deep family and spiritual values were of utmost importance to her.

Surviving are her mother, Leetha Schipiour of Lake Thunderbird;
two children, Kevin Cascone of Westmont and Kim Jacobs of Deerfield Beach, FL.;
four grandchildren, Raymond Jacobs, Katie Jacobs, Lauren Cascone and Sydney Cascone; and
her precious pets, Hope and Calico.

She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Schipiour;
brother, Lawrence Schipiour;
sister, Constance Olaf;
and her best friend, Duane Wilhelms.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Laura Root-Tanner officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded and inurnment will be at a later date.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m Sunday in the funeral home. A rosary will be recited by her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Laura Root-Tanner officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded and inurnment will be at a later date.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m Sunday in the funeral home. A rosary will be recited by her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Coroner called for car versus semi accident on Interstate 80

Just after 9 a.m. emergency personnel were called to the scene of a car versus semi accident on Interstate 80 between Princeton and Spring Valley.

Several area fire departments, including Ladd and Spring Valley, and 10/33 ambulance responded to the scene.

The collision required extrication and a LifeFlight helicopter was notified of the accident.

According to a social media report from Illinois State Police District 17, there was a fatality in the crash.

The coroner could not provide the name of the deceased person who is from North Central Illinois.
