Mary Evelyn Griffin, 79, a life long Rush County resident, passed away January 2, 2017 in Indianapolis.
Mary was born July 8, 1937 in Rushville to the late Robert & Goldie (Cheek) Borem.
She married Howard Griffin on October 6, 1951 and he survives.
Mary worked many years as an aid at Hillside Haven in Rushville, in the kitchen at the Durbin Hotel & the Bluebird and also waitressed at Mr. Freshie. She had most recently driven a van for the Rush County Sr. Citizen's Center.
She is survived by her husband, Howard, of Rushville, sons, David (Marilyn) Griffin of Piqua, OH, Phillip (Robin) Griffin of St. Paul and Greg Griffin of Rushville, daughters, Sandy (Terry) Gruell of Osgood and Debbie (Roger) Hankins of Rushville, sisters, Clara Mae (John) Lenox and Judith (Larry) Gahimer all of Arlington, 15 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by a son, Howard Lawrence Griffin, a grandson, Terry Daniel Gorrell, a brother, Robert E. Borem & a sister, Eva Adams.
Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.
