LAWN - Laura Minta Hudson, 95, died Friday, February 9, 2007, in Holiday Hill Nursing Home in Coleman. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2007, in Lawn Baptist Church with Reverend Price Mathieson officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery in Coleman County, directed by Fry - Bartlett Funeral Home in Tuscola.

Minta was born in Brown County December 12, 1911, to Solomon Roe and Jessie Rippey Arnold Bailey. She married Buril E. Hudson January 19, 1929, in Goldsboro. She lived in the Goldsboro, Content and Rogers communities prior to moving to Lawn in 1976. She worked at the Taylor Turkey Farm from 1959 to 1969. A homemaker, she loved quilting, gardening, and sewing and was devoted to God, her church, family, and friends. She was a member of Lawn Baptist Church and the Lawn chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband in 1974; two daughters, Yvonne Adams and Barbara Polk; one son, Buril Dean Hudson; one sister, Iris Aiken; and two brothers, Wendell Bailey and Lowell Bailey.

Survivors include one daughter, Wannell Bowyer of Abilene; one son, Derald Hudson of Montgomery; two sons-in-law, Bobby Adams of Plano and Jim Polk of Abilene; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
