"Gleeson Youth Is Killed In a Shooting Accident.
Paul B. Christiansen, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.W. Christiansen of Gleeson, was shot
and instantly killed at 6:30 o'clock Friday morning in the bunk house where he
and his brothers slept at the Christiansen ranch one mile north of Gleeson in
the Sulphur Spring valley.
Three brothers had planned a hunting trip. A .22 caliber rifle lay on one of the
bunks. When one of the boys sat down on the bunk the rifle was tilted upward and
accidentally discharged. The bullet struck little Paul in the chest, went
through his heart. Paul B. Christiansen was born July 3, 1931 at the Calumet
Hospital in Bisbee, Arizona. He was in the second grade at school and was a very
brilliant student. His outstanding characteristic was his sweet disposition and
love for others. He always thought of others before himself. Private funeral
services were held at the Christiansen home Sunday morning at 10:30 and public
services were held at 2:30 in the afternoon at home. The body was laid to rest
in the family lot at Gleeson. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.W.
Christiansen, four brothers, Harry W. Jr., Roy Lee, Earl J., Donald; two
sisters, Ruth and Zona."
