Alvin Brister, Jr., 52 of Gonzales, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2007 at his residence. He was born March 28, 1954 in Leesville to the late Alvin and Eva Cornelia Ivey Brister, Sr. He worked for Harwood Heating & Air.

Survivors include four daughters, Wandolyn Pabst of Seguin, Melissa Denise Torres, of Gonzales, Donna Allen of Cost and Holly Dudley of Harwood; two sons, Alvin Brister, III and Jason Lee Brister along with four step-children; one brother, Paul D Mikish of Luling; three sisters, Dorothy Brister of San Antonio, Evelyn Brister and Carolyn Bodkin, both of Luling; 29 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving him are two special ladies, Cathy Kalisek and Roxy Gibson, both of Gonzales.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Jim Mikish; and one grandchild, Yvonne Dnae Dudley.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at 12 noon at Buffington Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Jackson and Rev. Gary Brown, officiating. Burial followed at the Caraway Cemetery in Leesville.

Honorary pallbearers were Henry Condel, Dean Seitz, Kerry Wendel and Tony Fitzsimmons.

Buffington Funeral Home, 424 St. Peter Street, Gonzales, 672-3322, was in charge of arrangements.
