May 29,30 Eureka Times - Armstrong Neva was born to Harry Allender and Mary Ellen Doyle on Nov 20, 1920 in Parma Idaho. She graduated from the Boise Idaho Business University and for several years worked in banks in Parma, Portland Ore, and Ada Mn. In 1948 she met and married Robert Armstrong. They lived in Mn. until 1954 when they and their two children Susan and Bob Jr., moved to Richmond Ca. the to Eureka in 1955. Their third child Jim was born in 1961. Neva chose to stay home and raise her family for which they are eternally grateful. Throughout the years her life was full of band concerts, orchestra concerts, Blue Birds, Campfire girls, Jobs daughters, paper routes, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, DeMolay, Vacation Bible School, Little League, picnics, dance recitals, bridge parties, bake sales, hundreds of sack lunches, sandy hot dogs on the beach, canning corn, making jam, chauffeuring, mumps, measles, broken arms and her broken ankle. Though she loved all the musicals and concerts, she professed to having a "tin ear". Neva lived in a house of musicians and could not play a single note, let it be known that she wanted "to come back as a single string bass player". We hope she gets that opportunity. She loved tole painting, gardening an playing bridge. She was kin and understanding and loved by all who knew her. She passed away peacefully on Sunday morning May 15, 2011 at the young age of 90. She is survived by her children Susan Dillingham and her husband Craig, Robert Jr. and his wife Lori and James. Six grandchildren Erin and Meghan Armstrong, Tess and Sara Armstrong and Erik and Jennifer Dillingham, 2 great grandchildren Timothy and Caleb Francis.
