George M. Blocker married Margaret Carson Perrin, daughter of Abner Perrin, Jr. and Mary Carson Patterson, on 9 September 1845 at Edgefield District, South Carolina. Shortly after the time of the 1850 USC, when they were still living in Edgefield, the young couple moved to Alabama with their two children. Margaret's parents and several of her siblings also moved to settle Alabama at that time. They were in Alabama less than two years when George Blocker died. He was the father of three children:
1) Sallie Perrin Blocker 1848-1881, m William M. Neville
2) Mary P. Blocker 1849-c1875, unmarried
3) George M. Blocker, Jr. 1852-1901, m. Bettie Robinson

About 1859, his widow, Margaret Perrin Blocker, married as her second husband. Dr. Richard G. Dillon, and lived in Kemper Co., Mississippi. They had one son, William E. Dillon 1860-1913. Margaret died in the early 1860s, according to Mississippi Supreme Court records; her burial place is not known. A FindAGrave Memorial has been established placing her burial in the Giles Cemetery (no stone or proof of burial). She may be buried at Old Providence Cemetery, with her first husband.
