Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
Mr. Gilkey was born October 4, 1930 in Christian County, KY, the son of the late Ewing Adrian Gilkey Sr. and Helen Louise Gilkey.
He was the owner of Crofton IGA Foodliner for over 27 years. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Adrian was a past Deacon of Crofton and Kelly Baptist Churches. He was also a member for 27 years of Crofton Volunteer Fire Department where he was a former Fire Chief.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Welch and Margie Shelton; and a grandson, Lee King in 2009.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Helen Marie Cook Gilkey of Hopkinsville; his son, Tim Gilkey and his wife, Penny of Crofton; his daughter, Tammy Gilkey Hester and her husband, Mark of Hopkinsville; his brother, Frank Gilkey of Nortonville, KY; two grandsons, Brent Gilkey and his wife, Julie of Hopkinsville, and Brandon Reynolds and his wife Kacee of Clarksville, TN; and a great grandson, Bennett Reynolds.
