Margie Louise Gilkey Shelton, 80, of Christian Health Center, died at 10:15 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009, at the center after a long illness.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2009, at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with the Rev. Robert D. Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
A native of Christian County, she was born Sept. 5, 1928, the daughter of the late Ewing Adrian and Louise Harrell Gilkey. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and had worked at the Christian Health Center for many years.
Survivors include one son, Freddy Shelton, Jr., Pembroke; two daughters, Carol Sivills, Cadiz and Bonita Young, Henderson; two brothers, Adrian Gilkey, Hopkinsville and Franklin Gilkey, Nortonville; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two step-granddaughters and two step-great-grandchildren.
