Vivian Holiman Rankin
June 19, 1922 - April 17, 2017

Funeral services celebrating the life of Vivian Holiman Rankin will be held at 3, Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Pineville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Brother Don Wylie officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Firmin, Erick Pacheco, Wesley Ward, Wayne Holiman, Zack Newell and Dan Myers.

Mrs. Rankin is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Vernon E. Rankin; her son, Randall B. Rankin; her father and mother, Tom and Carrie Holiman; 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Firmin (Ronald J. Firmin); her grandson, Jeffrey Firmin (Andrea); five granddaughters, Aimee Pacheco (Erick), Andrea Rankin, Piper Ward (Wesley), Whitney Newell (Zack), and Taylor Rankin; 3 great granddaughters and 4 great grandsons; plus many fine nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one brother, Bill Holiman.

Mrs. Rankin led a beautiful full life. She worked in positions of authority with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. during WWII, with Sears Roebuck & Co. and later with her son at Rankin Automotive until her retirement from the business world.  While she was always valued for her high moral standards and work ethics, her greatest joy and accomplishment was her decision to become one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1965. Helping others to know what the future holds according to God's own words from the Bible were her happiest moments. She was affectionately known to family and friends as "Granny" and with that title she proved to be whatever her family or friend needed at any given moment. She was described by one of her granddaughters as a faithful example, game strategist, nurse to whatever ailed you, gardener, singer, nature lover, chef, worrier, bookworm, seamstress, confidant, teacher of the truth, comedian and someone who loved her family unconditionally.  She will be missed by so many. Vivian was a lady in every respect, full of love and compassion for others, but equally made of strong enduring stuff that carried her through almost 95 years of life.  A full life well lived and from a generation that will be sorely missed.
