DEATH CLAIMS ROBERT J. GUY
Pioneer and Former Sheriff of Rosebud County
Word has been received here of the death of Robert J. Guy, 77, one of the first settlers of Pease Bottom, who died at the home of a son, in Kalispell, following a short illness of pneumonia. He was the father of Mrs. Phil Isaac of Hysham.
The deceased was one of the most widely known pioneers of eastern Montana, having served a six-year term as sheriff of Rosebud County. At one time he operated a general store at Junction, near Custer, the site of which has since been destroyed by flood waters from the Yellowstone.
Mr. Guy was born in Greenfield, Missouri, in 1858 and in the early years of his life had united in marriage with Alice Higgins, who died at the family homestead, near Hysham, in 1919. At one time he lived in Seattle, Wash.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Phil Isaac, Mrs. L. L. Haley, and Mrs. Albert Crosley of Seattle; and four sons, John and Bryan Guy of Seattle, William Guy of Renton, Wash., and Herbert Guy, of Kalispell.
Funeral arrangements were not announced in the message.
