DODGE CENTER -- The funeral for Evelyn Emilie Whiting will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Grace Lutheran Church of Dodge Center, with the Rev. Robert Lentz officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery in Concord.
Mrs. Whiting, 96, of Dodge Center, died Thursday (Feb. 8, 2007).
Evelyn Emilie Kautz was born Aug. 13, 1910, in Concord Township, Dodge County. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Grace Lutheran Church of Dodge Center, where she was a lifelong member and participated in the Ladies Aid. On Sept. 16, 1937, she married Wendell Whiting. They farmed in the West Concord and Dodge Center areas for many years. She was employed for 15 years at Fairview Nursing Home in Dodge Center before her retirement.
Survivors include three daughters, Bonita (Marvin) Hanebuth of Congress, Ariz., Shirley (Kerry) Koestler of Vining, Minn., and Karen (Jay) Deones of Oronoco; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Armond (Delores) Kautz of Kasson. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter and a brother.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Dodge Center, and an hour before the service Monday at the church. There will be a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
