Cecil Eugene Osborn, 85, of Garfield, departed this life April 15, at Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Mo. after suffering a massive stroke while vacationing in Branson with dear friends.

He was born February 17, 1932 at Elk Falls, Kansas, to Charles Martin Osborn and Ida Mae Bennett Osborn. Cecil attended school in Elk Falls and graduated from Elk Falls High School in 1950. He then attended Independence Junior College for two years. In 1952 in enlisted in the US Navy for four years. In the fall of 1956 he went to work at Boing in Wichita, Kansas, until he was laid off in 1971. Cecil then worked for Precision Contours in Wichita which only lasted a short time. In 1972 he was employed by Tweco Products until his retirement in 1995.He was an avid fisherman, attended Lost Bridge Community Church and is preceded in death by his parents; one brother George Osborn; four sisters Bessie Royce, Helen Cooley, Viola Barnett, and Barbara Sanders.

He married Mary McAlister Osborn from rural Moline, Kansas in 1957 who survives; two sons, Martin “Marty” Osborn (Debbie) of Clayton, North Carolina, and Randy Osborn (Sheree) of Rago, Kansas; a daughter Cathy Ostmeyer of Rogers; seven grandchildren Casi Ebbing & Jason, Justin Osborn & Andrea, Bryant Zimmerman & Kylie, Kyle Lee Osborn & Val, Cody Osborn, Quinlyn Ostmeyer, and Daniel Osborn; and one great-grandchild.

Service is set for 11:00a.m. Friday, April 21, at Lost Bridge Community Church with Rev. Hugh Wagner officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 before the service begins. Burial will be at Elk Falls Cemetery at Elk Falls,
