Marv attended Pella Christian Grade School through 8th grade and later earned his GED. He met Mary Lou Plate through a friend at church and they were united in marriage on November 18, 1954, in Prairie City. To this union they were blessed with three children: Dianna, Karla and Brian. Marv and Mary Lou raised their family in the Pella area where Marv worked in the factory at Pella Corporation for 43 ½ years. He retired from there on December 1, 1995. Marv also started Vande Lune Auction Service in the Pella area, which he ran for 40 years.
Marv was a life-long member of First Christian Reformed Church in Pella where he made profession of faith and served as an elder.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary Lou of 62 years, his children and their families:

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Lena Vande Lune, and his siblings: Gertrude and Gert Van Dyke, Ruth and Merle Kallemyn, Wilbert and Genevieve Vande Lune, Frances and Ernie Van Haaften, Leonard and Esther Vande Lune, and a sibling in infancy.
