Slain Father and Son Buried At State Town

Knox, PA;31 Dec 1940
After a single funeral ceremony at St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Reuben L. Wentling, 57, and his 12-year-old son Reuben, Jr, slain at their farm home near here, were buried side by side yesterday. Members of a Boy Scout Troop to which young Wentling belonged acted as pallbearers.

Frank Dearolph, 43, mechanic and nephew of Wentling, is charged with killing the father and son. Sheriff M. O. McKinley, who said Dearolph admitted to shooting Wentling because he blamed him for the death of his own father in 1913, reported the prisoner appeared "quite relieved" and was eating heartily and sleeping well in jail.
