Hazel (Keys) Van Dyne, 89, passed away at home in Vancouver, WA on March 14, 2010. She was surrounded by many family members from all over the United States. She was born on Oct. 18, 1920 in Buffalo, MT, the third child of ten born to Truman Benjamin and Beaulah Elizabeth (Meserve) Keys.
Hazel was very active in the 4th Plain Nazarene Church.
She loved outdoor activities, gardening, fishing, hunting, and camping. She was always up for a challenge and loved spending time with her family.
Hazel married Clias Thurman Van Dyne on June 10, 1995, and enjoyed 15 wonderful years together.
Hazel will surely be missed by her many family and friends.
Her children and grandchildren will miss her rocking them on her lap. She will leave an emptiness and void in a lot of lives.
Hazel is survived by her husband, Clias Van Dyne; and five children: Betty Irene Gibson and husband Raymond of Vancouver, WA, James LeRoy Jordan and wife Sharon of Portland, OR, Robert Lyle Jordan and wife Maria of Hillsboro, OR, Sandra May Hays and husband Paul of Fostoria, OH, and Sharon Kay Fabela and husband Jesus of Vancouver, WA.
She was preceded in death by her five brothers and four sisters; and daughter, Marilyn Lorraine Pitt of Burlington, KS, who passed on January 17, 2007.
She also raised five step-children, Betty A. Vigor of Anaheim, CA, Barbara J. Freimuth of Oroville, WA, Ruby Manker of Oroville, WA, Mary Wicker-Pief (deceased) and Rosie Winchester (deceased).
