Nina Ahlstrom was born March 31, 1899, at Bertrand, Nebraska, the daughter of John Johnson and Augusta Engstrand. She was married to Frank Ahlstrom August 12, 1921.
In addition to raising her children, Nina was an employee of the Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Streator, Illinois, and later worked as a licensed practical nurse.
She died at Normal, Illinois, on November 6, 1994. Funeral services were conducted at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wenona, Illinois. Interment was in the church cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died January 17, 1942, six sisters, three brothers and a grandson. Nina was survived by a daughter and two sons, her brother Julius, 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
