"Lisle Bean was born and grew up on the Bean homestead farm in Glover. He graduated from Barton Academy and attended what is now Vermont Technical College. Following his marriage to Ethel Young, they drove to Arizona with her parents in the expectation of improving her mother's health in that climate. After a few years they all returned to Glover, with Lisle and Ethel moving into the "little house" (Samuel's original framed house built in 1806) and Lisle working on the farm for his father.

Around 1943 Lisle's parents sold the farm to Lisle and Ethel, retiring to the "brick house" in Glover village. Lisle and Ethel moved into the "big house". They were the last occupants of Samuel's "old house" of 1806. In the mid 1980's, the "old house" was sold, dismantled and was reassembled near Cornwall, VT. Lisle and Ethel operated the farm with registered Holsteins." (Bean, Robert S.)
