Frank, the second son, enlisted in the Sixth Illinois Regiment,Dixon, Illinois, at the beginning of the Spanish-American War. Not being of age he had to obtain the consent of his parents. He wanted his older brother to go with him. Mrs. Dornblaser, the mother, said one son was enough. John had had a severe attack of inflammatory rheumatism, and she felt he should not go. But Frank prevailed on him to do so and both boys, Frank and John, served their country in the Spanish-American War.
Frank graduated from the Chicago College of Physicians and Surgeons and practiced medicine in Amboy, Illinois.
