Benton Martin, 86, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family.

A Williamson County native, Mr. Martin was born on Jan. 21, 1934 to the late Jesse W. and Grace Marlin Martin. Benton served in the U.S. Army and enjoyed farming. He was a member of the Nazarene faith.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Dan Rainey Martin of Lewisburg; daughters, Terrie Lynn (Terry) Parrish of Verona, Tennessee and Mary Beth Martin of Lewisburg; sisters, Carolyn Judd of Columbia, Jo-anne King of Columbia, Janice Walls of Franklin and Debbie Klinger of Lebanon; grandchildren, Katie Rosetta (Nathan) Hill of Lewisburg and Carmen Elizabeth (John Stubblefield) Parrish; great-grandchildren, Shelby Lynn Hill, Benton Parker Hill and Hazel Smith, all of Lewisburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Dennis Martin, Donald Martin, Delmer Martin, Delbert Martin, Gillman Martin, Danny Martin and David Martin.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at 12:30 p.m. at Sparkman Cemetery in Williamson County. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, Jan. 28 from 4-8 p.m. at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home.
