Dean Coldren was born July 13, 1929 in Wabash, Indiana to Walter E and Chloe Mary (Thomas) Coldren. He graduated from Linlawn High School in 1947. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Norma Jane Niccum in Wabash on January 15, 1950. Dean drove a truck for Walter E. Coldren Trucking in Richvalley. He enjoyed fishing, playing chess and euchre, and spending time with his grandkids and family.

He is survived by his daughter Linda (Larry) Thrush of Wabash; his son David (Cyndi) Coldren of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; his daughter-in-law Georgi Coldren of Fishers, Indiana; granddaughter Cassandra Coldren of Columbus, Ohio; grandson Joseph Thrush of Wabash; granddaughter Katherine Thrush of Wabash; granddaughters Delaney Coldren and Kylie Coldren of Moncs Corner, South Carolina; grandson Larry Thrush, Jr. of Wabash; grandson Mark (Kelly) Thrush of New Castle, Indiana; great-granddaughter Natalie Hileman of Wabash; great-grandaughter Maitlyn Thrush of Warren, Indiana; and great-grandson Treyton Thrush of Wabash.

He is preceded in death by his wife Norma Jane (Niccum) Coldren, his father Walter Ellis Coldren, his mother Chloe Mary (Thomas) Coldren, his twin sister Rose Mary Coldren who was stillborn, his brother Walter Coldren Jr., his half- brother James Daniel "J.D." Coldren, his half-brother Claude Lamar Coldren, and his son Daniel Lee Coldren.
