Mrs. Forvor, Old Resident of Lake County, Summoned
Passes Away in Her Home at Grayslake Where She has Lived For 75 Years
Mrs. Merub Forvor, aged 86 years, a resident of the Grayslake district in Lake county for more than 75 years died at her home in Grayslake Wednesday, July 21, after a short illness. Death was due to her advanced age.
The deceased was one of the best known residents of the vicinity in which she made her home for so many years. She was born in Ohio and came to this county with her parents as a child. The family located their home on the bank of Grayslake. At that time the town of Grayslake had not been conceived.
After her marriage her parents moved to Hainesville, four miles from Grayslake where they conducted a general store for some years. She accompanied them to the new home. When her parents again returned to Grayslake to locate on a farm on the shores of the lake she remained with them.
During her long hears of residence in the county she has watched the district develop from a pioneer settlement into one of the most populous and popular resort districts in northern Illinois.
She is survived by three children Charles Forvor of Waukegan; Mrs. Everett B. Neville of Grayslake and Mrs. John Hart of Round Lake. Her husband passed away 40 years ago.
Funeral services were held from the Grayslake M. E. church at 1:30 p.m. last Friday. Interment was in the Grayslake cemetery.
