OBITUARY:
Philip Allman son of Samuel and Fannie Allman was born February 12, 1849, in Jackson county, Ind., where he spent his entire life.
His occupation throughout his life was that of a farmer. By the hardest of labor and strict economy he has reared a large family.
He was married twice. The first wife being Sarah E. Hicks. To this union were born nine children, namely, Edward, Philip, William, Mort, Ezra and Sam Allman, Myrtle Lucas of this neighborhood and Josephine Fleetwood of Seymour, and Fred, who enlisted in the world war and lost his life over seas.
On May 2, 1902, he was married to Katie Hagen and to this union were born four children, Mrs. Howard Acton of this place, Mrs. Dan Kinworthy of Brownstown, Irene of Seymour, all living, and a baby boy, Dale, who preceded him into the great beyond.
Beside the wife and children he is survived by two half-brothers, Joseph and W.R. Allman of this place and one half-sister Lucinda Carr of Seymour. Also a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
The funeral services were held at the Pleasant Grove church Monday morning at 10:00 o'clock, Rev. F.H. Reynolds officiating, assisted by Rev. L.S. Lovell. Internment in the Wayman cemetery.
