Nettleton/Amory – Jean Adams Smith passed away on April 6, 2017, in Amory, after a short illness. Born on July 31, 1938, in Amory, she was the daughter of the late Joe Frye Adams and Erma Stanford Adams.

Mrs. Smith was married to her husband on August 31, 1951, and they were happily married for 55 years. They were blessed with three daughters. She was the secretary of her husband’s construction company, Smith Brothers Construction, for 25 years while she stayed at home with her children.

Jean loved the Lord and she was a praying lady with great faith and she was always happy to serve. She taught Sunday school for 50 plus years at Pine Grove Baptist Church as well as Fellowship Baptist Church, where her husband was a pastor for many years.

After Mrs. Smith’s husband passed in 2006, she sold their home and moved to Amory to be close to her three daughters. One who was always caring for others, Jean volunteered at numerous Nursing Homes in the Community.
