Carolyn Donelson, 87 of Hopedale, passed away at 12:20 am Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at her home. She was born November 28, 1929 in Toledo, IL to Oris and Elsie Bennett Easton. She married Roy W. Donelson on March 25, 1950 in Heyworth, and he passed away July 22, 2010.
Surviving are two sons, Dennis Donelson of Hopedale and Phillip (Tanya) Donelson of Clinton; one daughter, Vickie Reeser of Pekin; four grandchildren, Christopher and Jacob Reeser, Taylor and Riley Donelson; one sister, Barbara Yordy of Greenfield, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son in law John Reeser, three sisters and one brother.
Carolyn worked for the Olympia School District in the cafeteria for many years.
She was a member of the Boynton Mennonite Church in Hopedale, where she taught Sunday school, and was a member of its WMA. She was an active volunteer for Mennonite Relief Sale, Hopedale Lions Club, and Hopedale Fourth of July celebration.
She was a seamstress, and enjoyed gardening and flowers. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's activities.
Her funeral will be 6:00 pm Friday April 7, 2017 at Boynton Mennonite Church in Hopedale. Visitation will be from 4- 5:45 pm, also at the church. Cremation will be accorded following the services. Burial will be at a later date. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Hopedale is handling the arrangements.
