Boyde Lane Allman, 87, of Bryson City, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017. He was born on February 26, 1930, in Mount Pleasant, NC, to the late Jonas & Nancy Mae Howell Allman. Lane was preceded in death by three brothers- Jay, Buford, and his twin Boyce; and a sister Nancy Joan. He worked for A.B. Burton Construction Company for over 30 years, and then was a foreman and supervisor for several construction companies until his retirement in 1994. His work required him to move around to many places, before finally settling in Bryson City in 1973. Lane was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Masons for 50 years. Lane was a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon. Music Director, Sunday School Director, and many other positions. Lane and his wife, Arlene, loved to travel and were able to visit the 48 continental states, Alaska, Canada, and the Bahamas.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Arlene Maddox Allman; a daughter, Gwen Lindsay and husband Michael; a son, Toby Allman, and wife Judy; a grandson, Bronson Lindsay; a step-grandson, Michael Monteith; two step-great-grandsons, Hunter & Greyson; and a sister, Opha Manus.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Deep Creek Baptist Church. Revs. Mike Cogdill and Earl Holden will officiate with burial in the Swain Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Wednesday at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Deep Creek Baptist Church.
