Funeral services will be held Saturday for Otto Wefel, 82, of Preble, who died at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday at the Adams County Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient two days. He had been in ill health for two years.
He was born in Preble Township Dec. 19, 1888, a son of Henry and Louise Meyer-Wefel, and was married to Emilie Ewell June 15, 1919.
Mr. Wefel retired from the Decatur General Electric Co. plant in 1953 after 24 years of services. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Preble.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Donald Wefel of Preble; a daughter, Mrs. Edwin F. (Leona) Reinking of Decatur Route 2; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Haugk of Decatur; 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. A daughter, Norma, died in 1959. Four brothers and three sisters are deceased.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Zwick Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Preble, with Rev. Norman Kuck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today until time of the services.
