Malinda Adeline Blakeney and John Allen Beckett, Sr. were married December 23, 1864 in Kinney County, Texas.
One daughter, Missouri A. Beckett married Miles Cicero (Cis) Stewart who became Sheriff of Eddy County, New Mexico, and her sister, Mary Adeline Beckett married Joseph Thomas Fanning I who was a brother to Rachel Adeline Fanning Larremore.

(Ref: BOOK-BACK DOWN MEMORY LANE, by Sylvania Fanning Pace, 1981, page 2, transcribed by Gene Hall, August 19, 1994, reads as follows:
"Other settlers in Seven Rivers about this time included the John Allen Beckett family. They came from Breckenridge, Kinney County in southwestern Texas, not far from the Mexican border. John Beckett, who was to become my great-grandfather, was born February 16, 1845 at Bonham, Fannin County, Texas very close to the Oklahoma border. His parents were Calamise and Elizabeth Jane McInturoff Beckett.
John fell in love with a young girl who was part Cherokee, by the name of Malinda A. Blakeney. Malinda was born April 11, 1848 in Oklahoma (censuses all show birthplace as "Texas"). There have been conflicting tales told about an elopement of John and Malinda, and I can't attest to the authenticity of any of them. One story is as follows; Malinda's family objected to their 16 year old daughter marrying, so John "stole" Malinda from her family one night, and the young couple rode madly for 3 days and nights with Malinda's family in close pursuit. However, they finally gave up the chase, and the two lovers were married on December 23, 1864 in Kinney County, Texas. Eight children were born to them there; they were George, Missourian, Mary Adaline, who was to become my grandmother, John Allen (Dan), Thomas, Elcie, David R., and Hyrum Calvin. The Becketts joined a wagon train headed for New Mexico in 1884, and settled in Seven Rivers. John raised sheep and farmed."
