Martha Belle enjoyed assisting many persons while working as a sales clerk at Sharon Book Store in Waynesboro. She was a faithful member of Mt. View Mennonite Church and a passionate Sunday School teacher for many years. Baking pies, arranging flowers, piecing quilts and singing were hobbies she enjoyed. Martha Belle dearly loved and enjoyed her grandchildren, faithfully praying for them every day.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Stoll, William "Bill" Stoll, and Herman "Jack" Stoll Jr.
Survivors include her loving husband, Lyle S. Burkholder of Waynesboro; children, Glenn E. Burkholder and wife, Mary of Warden, Wash., Sharon B. Shenk and husband, Alan of Waynesboro, and Emily B. Maust and husband, Brent Maust of Bay Port, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Burkholder and wife, Rebecca,Joshua Burkholder and fianc‚, Meg Short, Johanna Burkholder Ranita and Rachel Shenk, Emma and Aaron Maust; one great-grandchild; siblings, Mary Lou Yoder of Washington, Ind., Frank Stoll and wife, Darlene Stoll, of Traverse City, Mich., and Barbara Jean Lengacher and husband, Albert of Montgomery, Ind.; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Stoll of Washington, Ind. and Sue Stoll of South Bend, Ind.; a special friend, Gustavo Villegas; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Following a private family burial at Springdale Mennonite Church with the Rev. Stacey Burkholder officiating, a Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Mt. View Mennonite Church, Lyndhurst, with Pastor Earl Monroe officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Jonathan, Joshua, Eddie, Robert, Phillip and Jay Burkholder and Aaron Maust.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of her Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
