David Blane Baker, age 60, of Cumming, Ga., went to be with our Lord Wednesday, March 22, 2017. He was born on May 6, 1956, in Heidelberg, Germany to James C. and Dorotheia L. Baker. He attended Virginia Highlands Community College and received an Associate Degree in Electronics. After working for several years, he returned to college and received a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from East Tennessee State University. He worked in the field until moving to Georgia and joining the team at Automation Direct. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty years, Susan Diane LaTragna Baker of Cumming, Ga.; one daughter, Cynthia Marie Trent and son-in-law, Bryar Logan Trent of Belmont, Mass.; a sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Mike Walls of Bristol, Va.; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. James and Connie Baker of Damascus, Va.; nieces, Valerie Ratcliff, Rebecca Walls; a nephew, Carlton Baker; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins. David was a wonderful husband, caring father, true friend, and excelled at everything he attempted. He had a strong faith in God and lived his beliefs. He was a member of First Redeemer Church and the Judd/McDowell Bible Fellowship Group. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 24, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Schmid and Chaplin Ralph Atkinson officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 23, 2017, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home. Another service will be held in Damascus, Va. on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Garrett Funeral Home at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Austin Cook and Pastor Scott Price officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. at the family home, the Millsap-Baker Estate. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff on the eighth floor and especially the ICU at Northside Hospital Forsyth for their knowledge, experience, gentle care, and kindness. Additional thanks to family and friends for their love, prayers, and support.
