Carl P. Bear Avon, passed away on Nov. 11, 2007. He was born July 18, 1917 in Jefferson County, Madison, Indiana, the son of the late Edward Owen Bear and Myrtie Alene Phillips. He worked for General Motors. After retiring he worked at Hendricks County Golf Course. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church of Avon, where he actively served as a Deacon, Sunday School Supt. and teacher. He greatly enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Citizens Center in Danville. He was preceded in death by wife, Ada; sister, Martha Harper; brothers, James Bear and Marquis G. Bear; sister, Mary Louise Chandler. Mr. Bear was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a dedicated servant of God. Survivors include daughter, Barbara Leach (Russ); grandsons, Nick Webb (Jodi), Shane Webb (Sherri); granddaughter, Jennifer Webb; great-grandson, Carlton Webb; great-granddaughter, Katelin Webb; sister, Dorcas L. Williams; brother, Raymond E Bear; special people in his life, Geneva Eggers and Rubert "Smitty" Smith. We will be forever grateful for God's amazing love throughout his incredible journey. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church, Avon. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2007 in Faith Baptist Church, with calling there from 11 a.m. A private graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Arrangements by Conkle Funeral Home Avon Chapel.
