Mabel W. Ryan passed away Jan. 23, 1976. Resident of 5591 Mill St., Fortuna; wife of the late James B. Ryan who preceded her in death in 1974; mother of Mrs. Myrtle (Ernest) Carter of Fortuna, Mrs. Helen Carpenter of Fortuna, Robert W. Bower of Filmore, Carl A. Bower of Pleasant Hill, Ore., Mrs. Mary Campbell of El Monte, Mrs. Frances Bacus of Sedro Wooley, Wash.; sister of Mrs. Eva Palmer of Albany, Ore.; she is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 22 great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
Native of Iowa, age 96 years. She was a member of the Campton Heights Baptist Church of Fortuna, member of the Rohnerville Grange No. 509, Fortuna, a member of the VFW auxiliary, World War I auxiliary, of Fortuna. Mrs. Ryan made her home in Humboldt County the past 37 years.
Friends are invited to attend services at the chapel of Goble's Fortuna Mortuary, Jan. 26, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harold Johanson officiating. Interment will follow at Ocean View Cemetery, Eureka.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to St. Luke Manor, 2400 Newburg Rd., Fortuna.
