In 1908 at Colfax, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Adey celebrated their golden wedding anniversary surrounderd by their children, grand-children, and great grand-children. In the fall of 1916 Mr. Adey died at Seevers, Iowa, and since that time Mrs. Adey has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Hugh Gunn, at Colfax and her son, John Adey, in Oskaloosa.
She was the mother of nine children, four of whom preceeded her in death. The five surviving children are John W. Adey of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Ellen Johnson of Vancouver Island, Mrs. H.A. Gunn of Colfax, Nick Adey of Colfax, and Mrs. Belle Eggebrecht of Milwaukee, Wis.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 5, at the Methodist Church in Colfax, after a prayer service held at the Wilcox-Galrland chapel here in the morning. Burial was made in the family lot in the Colfax cemetery.
*Note: We have searched records and hunted the cemetery for the graves of John S. & Mary Barker Adey. Obituaries all indicate they are buried here in a family plot. Son Nicholas is buried here with a large area of empty graves near him but no markers. Also other family members close to this but still no markers.
These would be my second great grantparents if anyone wishes to contact me see my address on my bio page.
