Paul W. Scales
Paul was born on January 2, 1943 in Alexandria, Louisiana, but he grew up in Champaign, Illinois. Paul moved to the northwest with his mother Alice in 1966 following his brother out here for work.

Paul worked his early years at Shell gas stations. Then he worked as a dark room technician at PhotoArt. He enjoyed this a great deal and was pretty good at it. While working there he was set up on a blind date with Lyn. obviously it went well and Lyn and Paul married in 1967. Paul and Lynn had 3 children, Shane, Yvette and Suzette.

Paul was a great family man and was loved by many. Paul was bigger than life and shared his joy for life with everyone he met. Paul enjoyed photography, fly fishing, camping and reading. Paul later worked at Tidland as a machinist. During this time he became Yvette's soccer team coach.

He coached the team for many years. Paul worked on getting his journeyman machinist papers while at Tidland.

Eventually he ended working for his son Shane until he retired. Paul enjoyed spending time with the grandkids and the rest of the family.

Paul's celebration of life was held at First Evangelical Church in Vancouver, where he was a member.
