Possibly buried in this cemetery in an unmarked/unidentified grave. "William Cicero Parmer was born in Shelby, Alabama in 1814. He died 1875 in Johnson, Texas.

William possibly married an Ararentha Gary (need confirmation) & they had a son Martin van Buren Parmer, called Tobe (May 1, 1838 Shelby, Texas – July 22, 1932, Cisco, Eastland, Texas). Shortly after Tobe's birth, Ararentha died. William left the baby in the care of his mother-in-law (until he remarried to Frances B. Wood, his second wife).

William decided to answer the call of Stephen F. Austin and bring settlers to Texas. He formed a wagon train to bring settlers to Texas from Indiana. The journey from Indiana to Texas took 2 years. One of his granddaughters, Stella (Dendy) Ragsdale, writes of the adventure in her story "Our Heritage" found online. On the wagon train was the family of Frances B. Wood. Near the end of the journey, William C. Parmer married Frances B. Wood (born 1821 in Indiana – died 1877 Texas), daughter of Thomas & Mary Wood. For William Parmer's services for heading the wagon train, he was given land in what is now Waco, Texas. However, William never settled the land. William & Frances settled in another place in Texas where William operated a mill but due to Indian problems in the area, later moved to Jacksboro, Texas.

William and Frances Parmer had these children:

Sarah Parmer

Irene Parmer born 1841

Wilson Parmer (1842-1930)

Barthena Parmer(1843-1931)
