He was born February 14, 1943 in Mason, Michigan, the son of Frederick and Alice (Gillette) Brown. He was a 1961 graduate of Mason High School and a 1966 graduate of Michigan State University, with a degree in Agricultural Engineering.
Clarence married Barbara Jean Howery on January 10, 1964 in Eden, Michigan.
Clarence was employed in 1966 as a Research Engineer at the John Deere Product Engineering Center, retiring in 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Barb Brown, of Cedar Falls; his son, Mark (Julie) Brown, of Elk Run Heights, Iowa; three grandchildren, Kyle Walton, Megan and Thomas Brown; two great grandchildren, Carsten and Madeline Walton, and his brother, Howard Brown, of Winter Haven, Florida.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Staci Ann Brown, and his sister, Marie Brown.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.
Visitation will be 5—7:00 p.m. Wednesday, and one hour before service, at the funeral home.

Clarence enjoyed motorcycling with friends to rallies, get aways, and evenings out with the boys. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed life. The family wishes to thank Mayo Clinic Hospice and Cedar Valley Hospice for their support.
