A celebration of Qunell Thomas’s Life, age 79 of Jasper, Texas will be at 2pm Friday, March 10, 2017 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper, Texas.
Burial to follow at Holton Grigsby Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6~8pm on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper.
Qunell died March 7, 2017 at Christus St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. She was a native and lifelong resident of Jasper, Texas. She was a 1955 graduate of Jasper High School. She worked as an operator with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company before becoming a Rural Route Carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. She loved her family and enjoyed camping and cooking. She was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.
Qunell is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gene Thomas and her sons, Mike Thomas and wife Jo of Woodville, Texas and John Thomas and wife Holly of Jasper, her daughter, Lisa Folsom and husband Frank of Jasper, her sister, Jimmie Wilson of Holly Springs and a brother-in-law Hoss Thomas and wife Elizabeth of Jasper, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Qunell was preceded in death by her parents, John Solomon Jefferson and Stella Adams Jefferson, her brothers, Billy Ray Jefferson and Jack Jefferson, her sister, Frances Jean Stropp and grandson, John Folsom (13953002).
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
