Daisy Johnson, 79, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at 9:33 p.m. at Byron Health Center in Fort Wayne, IN.
Daisy was born on November 30, 1937, in Hindman, KY, to Millard and Callie (Jones) Woods. Her parents preceded her in death. Daisy married Herman Johnson on October 3, 1961, and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2016, after 55 years of marriage.
She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and was a devoted housewife.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by two sons, Simmon (Misty) Johnson, Goshen, IN, and William “Boyd” (Danette) Johnson, Fort Wayne, IN; one daughter, Elizabeth Johnson, Fort Wayne, IN. She is also survived by three brothers, Scott Woods, MI, James Harold Jones, Indianapolis, IN, and William “Bill” Woods, MI. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, James E. Johnson, and Herman Johnson Jr.; three brothers, Pearl “Woody” Woods, John Woods, Charles Woods; and one sister, Phyllis Jean Rush.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at First Freewill Baptist Church, 1805 Salamonie Avenue, Huntington, IN.
Additional calling hours will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017, prior to the funeral from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the church.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at First Freewill Baptist Church, 1805 Salamonie Avenue, Huntington, IN, with ministers, Brunk Conley and Tim Gillenwater.
Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Andrews, IN.
