August Lavelli 1928-2007 SPRINGFIELD - August Lavelli, Jr., 78, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2007 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Avon, CT to the late August and Domenica (Perretti) Lavelli. August served with the United States Navy from 1946-1948. He was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Alabama, the U.S.S. Hancock and the U.S.S. Lexington as an electronics technicians mate 3rd class. He was employed as a general manager for Time Warner Cable for many years. August is survived by his wife of 54 years, Debra A. (Wright) Lavelli of Springfield, his daughter, Susan Lavelli-Hozempa of Enfield, CT, his three sons, Gary of Harwich, MA, David of Orange, MA and Steven of East Weymouth and his sister, Ida Veronesi of Westfield. He also leaves 5 grandchildren, Daniel, Angela, Paul, Kathy and John as well as 2 great-grandchildren, Allison and Owen. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Thursday at 10 AM at the Toomey-O'Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St. West Springfield, with burial to follow in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PMat the funeral home. Contributions in his name may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 59 Bobala Rd. Holyoke, MA 01040
