Frances Fowler Edson, 89, widow of Col. Frank T. Edson, formerly of Jonesville, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007 at Ridgeview Manor in Hopkins.
Mrs. Edson was born in Jonesville, Jan. 3, 1918, a daughter of the late Ezra and Ola Carter Fowler. She was a member of the Trenholm Road United Methodist Church in Columbia and was active in the Society of Military Widows.
Surviving are a daughter, Delinne O. Edson, of West Columbia; a son: Frank F. Edson and wife Elise, of Cayce; a brother, Walter E. Fowler of Givhans, S.C.; four granddaughters, Sarah Seaman-Huynh and Suzanna Howard both of Lexington, Elizabeth Griffin of West Columbia, and Alice Edson of Columbia; three great-granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at New Hope United Methodist Church in Jonesville, conducted by the Rev. C.D. "Red" Williams. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
