Dorothy spent the next 30 years sharing her life with Russell Mahlum, and became a cherished member of the Mahlum family. Due to declining health, she spent the past 2 years in Bethany Riverside Care Center, making many new friends with staff and residents during her stay.
She was a very social individual. She loved nothing more than talking and laughing with those around her. And if anyone needed something, she was right there with a helping hand, a kind word, a funny story or one of her many delicious desserts. She had a tremendous and devoted love for her large family, and was a fixture of presence and strength for all. She also had a deep loyalty to her Church and her faith, which was present in her daily life. In her alone time, you would find her reading another new book, a passion she held her entire life.
