Elton Henry Stanley, a longtime resident of Ferrum, passed away on his 92nd birthday, May 26, 2005. He was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church and worked for MW
Manufacturers for 46 years. Preceding him in death were his parents, Henry and Fannie Stanley; sisters, Mary
Holley, Verlie Holley, Edna Prillaman and Marie Carter; brothers, Earl Stanley, Herman Stanley and Uriel Stanley. He is survived by his wife, Pearl C. Stanley; his son and daughter-in-law, James Elton and Rebecca Stanley; two sisters-in-law, Mabel Stanley and Geneva Stanley; and a number of nieces and nephews. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening and shared the products of his labor with family and friends. Graveside services will be conducted from Franklin Memorial Park, 2 p.m. Sunday with Dr. Jack Corvin officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Rocky Mount Baptist Church, 85 West Church Ave., Rocky Mount, Va. 24151 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 3907, Martinsville, Va. 24115. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday with his family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, S. Main St., Rocky Mount.
