Mrs. Lagasse was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Napoleon and Mary B. (Potter) Lassonde and had resided in Tiverton for most of her life.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a seamstress in the garment industry. Up until 2 years ago she was very active in the Mass Senior Action Council. She was also very involved with the Special Olympics and the Maher Center in Middletown, RI.
Survivors include her six children: Gayle Crawford of Tiverton, Alan Lagasse of Tiverton, Michelle Silvia of Freetown, Denise Smith of Martha's Vineyard, Wayne Lagasse and his wife Julie of Tiverton and Lisa Lagasse of Tiverton; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
On December 24, 2016, her great grandson, Josh Henry joined Gladys as they completed their final journey together. She was also sister of the late Doris Choquette, Evelyn M. Lyden and Irene A. Riley.
