Mrs. Riley was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Napolean and Mary B. (Potter) Lassonde and had resided in Tiverton since 1949. A very special place in her heart were all children and animals which she loved and adored. She was very involved with the R.I. Special Olympics with her niece Lisa, with whom she loved to spend time with. Later in her life she became an active member of the Massachusetts Senior Action Council, Inc. to champion a better world to live in.
Survivors include her three daughters: Joyce Prezalar of Middletown, Judi Riley of S. Dartmouth, Janet Riley and her husband Jim Kennedy of Fall River; her sister: Gladys Lagasse of Tiverton. She was "Nana" to her eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and "Auntie Irene" to numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Doris Choquette and Evelyn Lyden.
