Linda Lou Benjamin, 67, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident passed away on February 8, 2017 on Coupeville, WA.

Linda was born on June 4, 1949 in Sedro-Woolley, WA, the daughter of Louis and June (Dempsey) Ankney. She was raised and attended grade school in Sedro-Woolley until moving to Spokane where she graduated from Shadle Park High School with the class of 1967. She returned to the valley and attended Skagit Valley College where she earned an Associate's Degree.

Linda first worked at Northern State Hospital, then for Skagit Steel, where she met her future husband, Roger Benjamin. They were married on January 24, 1970, making their home in Sedro-Woolley. Linda then began working in the restaurant industry where she worked for several years until starting her own business, Skagit Septic Services, where she designed residential and commercial septic systems for the past 20 years.

Linda was a volunteer for Skagit Domestic Violence Services for many years. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, shopping, playing slots and bingo at the casino.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Benjamin; brother, Michael Ankney (Mary Bryan); step-father, Marvin Becker; step-brother, Rick Becker; step-sisters, Kathy Hoyt and Sandy Hernandez; niece, Jessica Wirth (Justin); nephew, Joshua Ankney; great- nephews, Jackson Wirth and Hendrick Ankney; former longtime companion, Patrick Curley and numerous extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lou Ankney and June Becker; husband, Roger Benjamin and step-brother, Russ Becker.

A funeral service is being planned for the spring and will be announced at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
